Prepare
Working with a partner, address the questions below:
- In what ways are the Learning Activity Checklist components and the Lesson Improvement Questions addressed in our improved lesson?
- How did we apply the lesson improvement process in completing our work?
- Why do we believe the improved lesson is practical and realistic, with reference to all necessary resources and supports?
- What is the best way to provide a guided tour of our lesson so that others can understand its merits?
Guided Tour
Find another team, ideally one that has at least one member from one of your Buddy Groups. You should not have shared your lesson with this other group.
You will form pairs and, individually, guide one person through your lesson, justifying your improvements.
Use this process:
- Individual members of the two different teams form A/B partners.
- Person A presents and “defends” their team’s lesson by referring to the Learning Activity Checklist and Lesson Improvement Questions, while Person B provides coaching feedback.
- A/B partners switch roles and repeat, so that both lessons are presented and receive feedback.
- How did the guided tour and defense help you to improve your lesson?
- As a peer coach, how might you incorporate the lesson improvement process, sharing with colleagues, and gathering feedback into your work?
